In the industrial city of Novokuznetsk, HopeRussia Seminary first-year student Alexander Zimin is associate pastor of an evangelical church called “My Church.” He and his wife Galina have one young-adult son, Elijah. Novokuznetsk is over 400 years old, founded in 1618 as a Cossack fortress.

The large letters are Russian for “My Church,” pronounced maya tserkov.  The similarity between the Russian pronoun maya and the English pronoun “my” demonstrates how Russian and English are related, Indo-European languages.
