Coming here was a miracle and a blessing...

Edinburgh Castle, Scotland  Anton Moroz, SRS Pastor Ruslan's son (tall guy , second row right of center), had the privilege in April to travel to Europe with the seniors of Covenant High School.  Anton said histime in the US changed his life dramatically. See his story below. Kruzhkov Family Story  I am the dean of the Biblical Theological Seminary of St. Petersburg. When my oldest daughter Adele turned 13, my wife and I realized that the unwholesome influence of her school was moving our daughter away from Christ. We lived in Kazakhstan where public school is the only legal way to educate your children so our choices were completely limited. I shared my concerns with Blake and Cathy Purcell and after some prayer and thought they talked with Rev. Rob Rayburn at Faith Presbyterian Church in Tacoma.  Covenant High School there agreed to enroll Adele and Anton, Pastor Ruslan's son, who was also in a tough educational situation.  We are grateful that Adele and Anton have had two years in Covenant High School and for the graciousness of  Faith Presbyterian Church for their housing and tuition.      "Covenant High School has been a life-changing force, which God has used to correct my path and guide me."    Adele Kruzhkova Before coming to Covenant I didn't know Christian education existed, education from a true Biblical perspective. In English, we studied literature from a biblical point of view, amazing. My new favorite book is Pilgrim's Progress. In speech class, I learned how to express myself by sharing my testimony with the class, which inspired me to rethink my life and recognize all  that God has done for me. We were encouraged to use our gifts for the glory of God and not for our own gain. Now I want to be a Christian teacher, something I never dreamed of as a possiblity. Now that I know  that I want to work with kids, in an environment where I can express my faith as part of my work. I want to infuse teaching with faith and help teach the next generation. The art classes, in particular, have inspired me, pushing me toward a career in teaching art.  Anton Moroz: I got what I always lacked --friends who love and care for me which has helped me grow in caring for others. Anton Moroz's story I have grown in faith, no doubt,  here at Covenant I was surrounded by Christians, whereas in my school in Russia I knew no other believers in the 600+ student body. This year I've gotten much closer to my classmates and they have started to seek my company as much as I sought theirs. This is what I had always lacked and has helped my character. I know feel more confident and outgoing but most of all, I have become willing to care about others. I am planning to study engineering but I am not sure whether it will be in the US or Russia.  I have missed some of the special preparation I needed to do for Russian university. Please pray with me for wisdom in this important decision. Ultimately I want to be back in Russia where I feel I belong.
