1999 was a momentous year for HopeRussia. The Lord’s blessing upon a decade of faithful presence in St. Petersburg yielded two kinds of fruit: a new church, and a new seminary. First, the young adults who had received Christ in the Purcells’ evangelistic endeavors were organized into the movement’s first particularized church (right). The Purcells met many of these people when they were college students. In the photo, several of them are now married with small children.
