1999 was a momentous year for HopeRussia. We rejoiced to see two kinds of fruit resulting from the Lord’s blessing on a decade of faithful presence in St. Petersburg. These two kinds of fruit were a new church and a new seminary. First, the young adults who had received Christ in the Purcells’ evangelistic Bible studies were organized into the movement’s first church plant (right). The Purcells met many of these people when they were college students. In the photo, several of them are now married with small children.
